Story of the Science Shop
While working in the Engineering sector for 21 years, Professor Mahendra Garud witnessed the changes taking place in the field of education. Nowadays, the lack of practical knowledge and book competition among the children has led the education sector towards degradation.
He thought that if we continue to generate love for science and practical knowledge through play, without making them bookworms from an early age, the children will definitely change in the coming years.
Then he came up with the idea of a Science shop.
This science shop should consist of play-learning tools for a very young child to adult. Like DIY games, Rubik cubes, science kits, fun games. There should also be a collection of puzzles, mathematical games, arts, etc.
At present, the government is emphasizing on practical knowledge from school. For which he made all-school project equipment available in this shop.
He also set up a center to help children get acquainted with world class technology like robotic coding, virtual reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence(AI), Internet of Things(IoT), Machine Learning(ML), Python workshops and other practical things.
Also designed different levels of robotics, setting up school colleges as training centers, offering free franchises to people in this emerging field to get business, thus making Science shop a necessity for the new generation of children.
